Ana Iti

Te Rarawa

Based in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara

Ana completed this project while attending the McCahon House Artists’ Residency, Parehuia. In 2018, Ana was a part of the exhibition: The earth looks upon us/ Ko Papatūānuku te matua o te tangata at the Adam Art Gallery in Wellington. Her staggering contribution, Only fools are lonely exists as 10 x 2 metres of hand cut and fired clay tiles. During the development of Only fools are lonely, Ana produced a body of work that explores sites and histories using found materials, texts and videos. Her recent works explore the practice of history making through shared personal narratives.
